A Beginner's Grammar Guide to the British C-Word (Researched Over Several Episodes)
I took notes. Here is what I have learned, organized by category.
THE FRIENDLY ONE: 'He's a good cunt.' This means he's a decent fella. Would help you move a couch. Brings his own cooler. Highest praise.
THE ANGRY ONE: 'You absolute cunt.' This means you have wronged him. Possibly stolen his horse. I think. There were a lot of horses in this show.
THE PUNCTUATION ONE: 'Right, cunt, put the kettle on.' Here it is used like 'buddy' or 'pal.' Very versatile. Like duct tape.
THE ADMIRATION ONE: 'Cheeky cunt.' This is said about somebody who did something bold and a little bit naughty. Like when I parked in the handicap spot for 30 seconds to run into the pharmacy.
IMPORTANT NOTE: The accent matters. You gotta kind of swallow the middle. It's not 'CUNT' like a declaration of war. It's more 'cun'' like you're greeting an old friend at the dog track. I practiced in the bathroom mirror for an hour. Linda knocked twice.
